This jewel of an alpine lake is located 32 miles east of Prineville. It is at an elevation of 5,200 feet and covers 18-25 acres. A small dam impounds spring-fed water that seeps from surrounding sloped meadows. The lake is stocked with rainbow, and non-motorized craft are welcome.

Follow OR-22E and US-20E to OR-126E in Sisters (109 miles). Turn left. After 23 miles turn left onto US-97 N. Follow OR-126 E to US-26 E. Continue through Prineville to Ochoco Creek Rd (34.5miles). Follow Ochoco Creek Rd and NF-22 to NF-2220 (15 miles).

The Walton Lake Campground is a small campground with 29 sites, most paved for RVs and trailers. Due to its popularity, reserving a site 6 months earlier is recommended.
The lake has a small concrete boat launch. Only non-motorized and electric-motor boats are allowed.
Fishing
ODFW plants the lake with rainbow trout and cutbow, with a significant number of trophy trout planted after Labor Day.
Fly Fishing Techniques
Indicator fishing with midge pupa (including chartreuse) is highly effective, as is fishing with woolly buggers and an intermediate line.
